Longtime biology professor dies

James Durward Smith, a former TCU biology professor and department chair, died April 15. Smith was 79.

The TCU flag will be lowered to half staff on Friday in remembrance of Smith, according to an email sent out by the Chancellor's office Wednesday.

Smith, who received his Ph.D from the University of Wisconsin, taught at TCU from 1966 until his retirement in 1997.
